Borrowing books is simple with BookSwap, if your friends have entered their books into BookSwap and have them marked as ‘Can Borrow’ you can search (or browse) all the available books to borrow, if you have many friends whom lend you books you can even limit the search to a defined friend.
Once you find the book your looking for, click ‘borrow’, your loans section then reflects a pending loan and the book owner is notified of your request.
When the book has been loaned to you, the owner updated their loan records to indicate that they have lent you the book, this is then time/date stamped and when the loan period has expired both yourself and the book lender are alerted to the overdue nature of the loan.
Once the book is returned the owner can complete the loan and the item is removed from your loans page and the owners.
Any time during the loan both you and the loaner can see the status of the item. Additionally anybody that has access to view the loaner’s books will see that the book is on loan and when it is due back. Naturally your privacy is respected and only the loaner can see that you are the borrower.
